UNCHANGED

Given, Love is extended,
increasing with the exchange,
unchanged.

Hoarded, fear withdraws,
clings fast to illusions —
ever-changing forms of insanity —
self-deceptive sights and sounds,
unseen, unheard, unshared.

Alone!

Immersed in images
that frighten and alarm,
the ego fancies itself
cognizant of a dying world
peopled with private phantoms
of an illusive past —
well-worn reactions
to imaginary others.
Itself the only witness
to a world standiong aghast
at nothing.

Perfect love is unaware
of fear.
It only gives to share
the gifts of love God pre-arranged.
Increasing, love remains
unchanged.
