SIN AND SINLESSNESS

Sin is the ultimate form of insanity,
Driving the mind into madness.
Seeking illusions instead of the truth,
It insures a continuous sadness.
It gives to the body an eye that can't see,
And an ear that hears nothing but lies.
For what would the sinless have need to behold,
Or to hear, or to seek, or despise?
What need they of senses when knowledge is theirs?
For sensing and knowing cannot be
Considered as similar functions at all;
They differ in ways that we all see.
And seeing the difference, why do we choose
To accept what we know to be error?
For knowledge can only be filled with the truth,
But the senses are sources of terror.
They serve at the will of the ego whose goal
Is to somehow convince us we're dying
To pay for the sins we've committed on earth
While concealing the fact that it's lying.
For sin is illusory, simply untrue.
It is not the condition of man.
It is that which results from ignoring the fact
That our Father established a ban
On concepts that mar or detract from the truth
That creation is holy and good —
That we are the sinless reflection of God,
And the laws that control us have stood
Forever, as God has assured us they will.
While our sins must remain nothing more
Than a dream of the senses that vanish away,
As our sinlessness truth doth restore!
