SEPARATION

Worshipping at shrines of self-deception, The ego makes blood-sacrifice of love At altars to the god of Separation. Communion is the sacrificial dove. Hymns of self-indulgence rise to heaven, Prayerful songs that strike a thankless chord – "Keep us safe, protect us from our brothers. Let no thought of oneness be explored." Bodies forge for us an independence From God, and from the Sons of God as well. The ego hides from Spirit as a body And dreams of heaven while promoting hell. But all around us conscious oneness hovers On formless pinions just beyond the din We hear as egos genuflect to falsehood And Separation labels oneness sin. Worshipping at shrines of real selfhood, No ego thoughts intrude on Love's domain. Though bodies strive for cherished separation, Yet one in holy Sonship we remain.
