CRYSTAL REX
To my beloved granddaughter on her Fourteenth Birthday.
On January Twenty-Second, 1982,
A miracle occurred that really changed our point of view.
In Orange, California, on that memorable day,
An Angel by the name of Crystal Rex was sent our way.
Clearly, she was cuter than most babies born on earth.
And wondrous things occurred that day to celebrate her birth.
A spark of love, which could not die, appeared within our hearts,
A special kind of healing love which only God imparts.
It filled our minds with gratitude and thoughts of tender care.
We marveled that our lives would now be blessed by one so fair.
We prayed for her well being, and we offered prayers of joy,
And prayers turned into happiness that nothing could destroy.
We didn't know that Crystal was an Angel of the Lord.
We thought her presence here on earth was strictly in accord
With laws of procreation and of human ancestry,
But Heaven was the source of Crystal's real legacy.
Her mission was to prove that good is preferable to bad,
To set a good example for the people who are sad
Because they failed to make the best decisions that they could,
And hadn't learned to listen to their conscience as they should.
The tasks of such an Angel are not easy to perform.
Sometimes the human part of them refuses to conform
Sufficiently to carry out the mission theyre assigned:
To make the world a better place to live for all mankind.
But God is watching over them to see that they succeed.
And some of them, like Crystal Rex, will probably exceed
The mission that was given them from Heaven at their birth:
To represent the Angels and their purpose here on earth.
