Letter To Readers

"When the prophet Elisha was awakened by his servant and told that he was completely surrounded by a powerful and hostile army intent on capturing him for the King of Syria, he prayed. He did not pray for God to protect him or to deliver him. He did not pray for strength to defeat the army, or for the ability to endure what they might inflict on him. He prayed for God to, 'Open the eyes of the young man that he might see.' His words to his servant were, (II Kings 6:16-17), 'Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.'  When the young man’s eyes were opened he saw that the mountain was filled with horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. I have learned in praying about this account what Elisha obviously already knew. That the spiritual resources of God’s all-powerful and ever-present law are always available to man when his eyes are open to the truth. Elisha’s spiritual insight not only saved him and his servant, but resolved the conflict between the kings of Syria and Israel as well, and protected those on both sides in the process.

"This story illustrates the genuine spiritual approach to effective Christian healing through prayer. We never pray for God to heal us because He has already made us perfect. We pray for God to open our eyes that we may see. And when our eyes are opened, when we 'know the truth', we realize that we are indeed His perfect spiritual image and likeness. To prove this, however, we must be willing to abandon a false mortal sense of ourself as a sinful human personality, and to replace this false sense with our true spiritual identity as God’s likeness which never needs to be healed. This requires persistent, consecrated prayer, and a willingness to give our earthly all for Christ, Truth.

"The six prayerful steps illustrated in Part Two of this publication are designed to aid you in achieving this goal. A difficult undertaking to be sure, but one made even more difficult by a lifetime of educated beliefs which lead in exactly the opposite direction — educated beliefs which are not only false, but which are reinforced continually by medical and religious dogma in schools and in the media.

"This letter is addressed to those who have already familiarized themselves with the concepts and ideas contained in the body of this publication. I realize that some of these concepts may be new and foreign to you, and that it may be challenging to replace comfortable and familiar habits of thinking with such new and radical ideas. No doubt, there are those who will choose not to do so; and some whose fear of present physical symptoms or conditions render them temporarily unable to reason clearly on this subject. To any reader of this message, however, who sees and understands the value of Paul’s admonition, (Rom. 12:2), 'Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.', and who is striving to achieve such a transformation, I am eager to be of assistance.

"Many years of experience in the practice of spiritual healing have helped me understand what the apostle meant when he wrote, (James 5:15), 'The prayer of faith shall save the sick.' This healing practice differs greatly, however, from what is commonly referred to as 'faith healing' . The purpose here is to impart to others a spiritual sense of what healing prayer actually is, its true role in the phenomenon of Christian or spiritual healing, and why I am convinced that it is always the most effective remedy or preventative. I have relied exclusively on this Biblical approach in healing myself and others successfully for over twenty-five years, and can testify to its consistent reliability and unequaled healing power. My desire is to reassure all readers of this publication that the spiritual resources of God’s Kingdom are still 'at hand' , (Mark 1:15). They are more than adequate to heal any condition from which you are suffering, to meet any legitimate need you might have, or to correct any circumstance with which you may be challenged, however difficult or troublesome it may seem.

"Don’t be discouraged if your own prayers for healing seem temporarily ineffective. Fidelity, persistence, and an unwavering trust in God, good, are often required to achieve the desired result. If you need prayerful support, let me know. If you feel a genuine need for help with a healing, or if you have any questions I can answer, please feel free to write. Or you can reach me by calling, (909) 584-9794. I would be happy to hear from you."
